Overview

N/a’an ku se Wildlife Sanctuary is situated 32km from Windhoek. You can find a carnivore conservation research programme beside the Sanctuary.

N/a’an ku se literally means ‘God will protect us’, or ‘God will watch over us’. This Sanctuary is run by Namibian conservationists .

The N/a’an ku se provides safe place and second chance for countless injured, orphaned and conflict animals, the main aim is to release the animal back to wild whenever it is possible.

Only the animals which are too ill and abused remain in the sanctuary. They say that, this is done purely for their safety and survival chances, mostly the big cats.

The carnivore tracking project aims to:

Sustainable and successful solution for re-locating problem animals, so they are no longer shot and killed

Re-establish a cheetah population in Nature reserve

Develop footprint identification for cheetah, which is free for use and enable cost effective

Enable farmers to manage and protect their livestock from predators by creating GIS
