Twyfelfontein Park

Overview of Twyfelfontein

Twyfelfontein National Park is simply awe-inspiring. This park is found on the brink of a freshwater spring during a remote semi-arid area at the top of a valley in Damaraland, a neighborhood of north-central Namibia. And here you’ll get the opportunity to explore the closest village, Khorixas, lies 80 km to the east. This incredible region is flourished its name in the world heritage site but includes some remarkable galleries of rock carvings (petroglyphs) portraying an unprecedented diversity of untamed animals – rhino, elephant, giraffe, oryx, ostrich, flamingo, zebra and lots of more - and footprints. The engravings are often superimposed on each other and are engraved on the huge rock faces of free-standing boulders in completely exposed positions.
